Sunny Rose (SR) is a fashion label that makes handmade jewelry and handbags, as well as female off-the-track line. Creative Director of SR Maureen Okogwu-Ikokwu hails from the Eastern part of Nigeria where she discovered her passion for accessories as a child whilst scrabbling through her mother's wardrobe and trinket cases.
Her talent for creating imaginative drawings and live for flamboyant treasure was also evident from an early age. After studying for a Masters degree in Public Relations from the European University in Montreux, Switzerland, Maureen set her sight on creating her range of handbags. Whilst having dinner at dawn in Lausanne, Maureen was spotted by a model agent, this turned out to be the start of her career in fashion.
SR was inspired by her travels around the globe and the label uses the first names of both her parents - Sunny and Rose. SR is available in high-end boutiques around the world and has been a favorite of the international press, including Elle, Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and Style.
